• For long-exposure shots, always place the camera on a stable surface to take the shot.
• The shot is taken the second time the flash fires, not the first time. Take care to ensure
that neither the camera nor the subject moves after the flash fires for the first time.
• Exposure compensation (  p.4-8) when the flash is used is limited to between -1.0 and
+1.0 EV.
• If the flash is used in Continuous Shooting mode, only one photograph can be taken.
• This setting reverts to the default when the camera is switched off. To retain the setting,
set Mode Lock (  p.6-7) to ON.
• Flash modes specified while the camera is in a Scene mode cannot be retained by setting
Mode Lock to ON.
■ Red-eye effect
Red-eye is an effect whereby the subject’s pupils appear red in a photograph because the
light entering the eye is reflected off the retina.
