PERIODIC MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

IMPORTANT SERVICE WORK THAT MUST BE PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED KTM WORKSHOP

Clean and adjust carburetor

Check the reed-type intake valve for wear

Check the wear on the clutch disks and length of the clutch springs

Check the cylinder and piston for wear

Check function of exhaust control

Check piston pin bearing

Replace the crankshaft main bearings

z

Replace the conrod bearings

z

Check the entire transmission, the shift mechanism and bearings

z

Complete maintenance of fork

z

z

Complete maintenance of shock absorber

z

Clean and grease steering head bearings and gasket elements

z

Replace the sealing cup for the foot brake cylinder

z

z

Replace the glass-fiber yarn filling in the silencer

z

z

Treat electric contacts and switches with contact grease

z

Change break fluid

z

z

z

Change hydraulic clutch fluid

z

Change the hydraulic clutch oil

IMPORTANT CHECKS AND MAINTENANCE TO BE CARRIED OUT BY THE RIDER OR THE MECHANIC

Check gear box oil level

Check brake fluid level

Check brake pads for wear

Lubricate and adjust cables and nipples

Bleed fork legs regulary

Remove and clean dust bellows regularly

Clean and lubricate chain, check tension and adjust if necessary

Clean air filter and filter box

z

z

Check tires for pressure and wear

z

Check cooling liquid level

z

Check fuel lines for leaks

z

Empty and clean float chamber

z

z

Remove, clean and oil the throttle slide

z

Check all control elements for smooth operation

z

Check brake performance

z

z

Treat blank metal parts (with the exception of brake and exhaust systems)

z

with wax-based anti corrosion agent

Check tightness of screws, nuts and hose clamps regularly

z

Note: If the inspection establishes that permissible tolerances are exceeded, the respective components must be replaced.
