BACKSPACE KEY
The backspace key ( ) all ows you to remove characters to the l eft of the cursor’s current
positi on. It di ffers from the left curs or key ( ), which onl y moves the cursor wit hout
del eti ng any characters.
The backspace key can also be used to quit m ost functions and ret urn to t he previ ous display
without changing t he text.
☞ The backspace key cannot be used to qui t the barcode function. To quit t he barcode
function, hold down and press .
Some quest ions asking you to confirm a command may appear on t he LCD display, es pe-
ci all y when the function that you have chosen wil l del ete or affect text . In t hese cases, press-
ing is the sam e as answeri ng “no”.
☞ To ans wer “yes”, press . Refer to RETURN KEY on pages 24 t o 26.
To del ete one character:
1 Press , , or to position the cursor below t he character immedi-
atel y to the ri ght of t he one that you wish to delet e.
2 Press once.
To del ete a sequence of characters :
1 Press , , or to position the cursor below t he character immedi-
atel y to the ri ght of t he last character that you wi sh to del ete.
2 Hold down until all of the characters that you wish to delete are deleted.
