Programming
specialist

A programmer or individual with
programming experience. The specialist
will provide the operator format and label
data records which will be sent to the
printer.

Host system

Any mainframe, minicomputer, data
terminal, or personal computer.

download (send)

Transmitting data from your host system
to your printer.

Offline printer

Printer with offline printing capabilities.

Cursor

Tells which keypad mode you are in:

Regular mode cursor is a solid underline.
Shift mode cursor is a blinking rectangle.

Enter or enter

Tells you to input data or information.

Represents the

key on the keypad.

Press this key to complete an action or
to send data to memory.

Format records

Contains a specific label design for
printing data.

Label records

The data containg the format number
and the actual data to be printed on a
label.
