Password protecting a mailbox

You can password protect individual Voice / Fax mailboxes for privacy. You have the
option of requiring a password for local access, local and remote access, or just remote
access.

To set a mailbox password:

1. Enter a numeric password in the password field. If you want password protection

only when accessing the mailbox remotely, check the Prompt for password with
remote access only option.

2. Click OK to save the change.

Greeting settings

The Greeting tab includes options for recording, selecting, saving, and playing
greetings. You can also select the default action a mailbox should perform after playing
a greeting.

Recording a greeting

You can record a custom greeting to be played when a voice call Depending on your
modem's capabilities, you can record your greeting the telephone handset, modem
microphone, or multimedia microphone.

To record a greeting:

1. Click New to create a new greeting

2. In the Greeting Recorder, select the recording device in the From you will be using

to record the greeting.

3. Click the Record button to begin recording. Click the Stop button you are finished.

4. Once you have recorded the greeting, click Save and save the to a file.

Selecting a greeting

You may want to record and use different voice greetings depending needs. For
instance, you could record a standard greeting, a greeting customers know you are
closed during lunch hour, and another you will be away for an extended period. You
can easily change greeting for any mailbox.

To select a greeting for a mailbox, select the desired greeting from Greeting list and click
OK.
