Considerations

Setting AGC and CTS Delay
The ASM-10/8 receiver consists of the following components:

The receiver filter, which removes all the out-of-band frequencies.

The automatic equalizer, which comprises several equalizers activated
according to baud rate.

The digital AGC, which automatically compensates for the attenuation of
the line.

The following are general recommendations for the setup position of the
AGC and CTS delay:

For point-to-point applications, set AGC to ON and CTS delay to 8 msec.

In multipoint or star applications, the AGC and CTS delay settings
depend on the distances between the modems (see Table 2-2 and Table
2-3
).
