Function Setup
Setting the Audio Sound
After you select AUDIO SETTING on the SET UP MENU screen 30 , adjust to your preference.
Press / to select the item, then press ENTER.
The setting screen of your selected item appears.
When AUDIO is selected: DVD
When AUDIO OUT SEL. is selected: DVD CD
When D RANGE CONTROL is selected: DVD

DVD CD
• Some DVD video discs contain special output sound that
describes the actions on-screen for visually impaired
persons. When you set DESCRIPTIVE SERVICE to “ON”
by pressing the AUDIO button, the DVD player
automatically plays back this special feature.
• Select the output sound type according to your system
connection. 12 – 15 , 27
ON: Dynamic range is reduced.
OFF: Full dynamic range is maintained.
Select a preferred language
by pressing
/ / / ,
and then press ENTER.
• Some DVD video discs may not include
your preselected language. In this case,
the DVD player automatically plays back
the disc’s initial language offering.
Select the output sound
type AC-3 or PCM by
pressing
/ , and then
press ENTER.
• This function works on playback of Dolby Digital recorded
discs.
• The level of Dynamic Range Reduction may differ
depending on the DVD video discs.
Select ON or OFF by
pressing
/ , and then
press ENTER.
To select a preferred language from those included on the disc. 25

To turn on or off the function that makes faint sounds easier to hear even if you lower the volume
in late hours playback.
To turn on or off the vocal assist in DVD KARAOKE disc playback.
