On-Screen Language

Allows you to select the language of the on-screen
displays.

Disc Menu Language

Allows you to select the language to be used by the disc
menus (menus included on the discs you are playing back).

Audio Language

Allows you to select the sound track language.

Subtitle Language

Allows you to select the subtitle language.

TV Shape

Allows you to adapt the picture size to the aspect ratio of
your TV.

Black Level

Allows you to set the “blackness” of the screen.

PAL/Auto*

Allows you to select the video system of a disc.

Audio Out Select

Allows you to select the audio outputs (digital or analog)
and/or the output format of the digital audio data.

Dynamic Range Control

Allows you to reduce the dynamic range of the audio data
(i.e. to reduce the difference between loud and soft
sounds).

Karaoke Vocal

Allows you to switch on or mute the vocal track of a DVD
Karaoke disc.

Extended Audio Features

Allows you to activate or mute the Extended Audio track for
visually impaired persons.

On-Screen Displays

Allows you to decide against having the operation status
icons displayed on the TV screen.

OSD Background Color

Allows you to select the background color for on-screen
displays.

Extended Subtitle Features

Allows you to activate or switch off special subtitles for
hearing-impaired persons.

Screen Saver

Allows you to switch on or off the screen saver function.

Pause/Still

Allows you to select the resolution of still pictures. (Field/Frame)

Parental Lock

Allows you to set on or switch off the Parental Lock
function.

Title Stop

Allows you to switch on or off a feature that automatically
stops playback after a Title is finished.

PBC

To select to playback a PBC- controllable video CD.

*U.S. and Canadian models do not support the advanced setting function.
