Chapter 8: Using the TV’s features

Using the ALS (ambient light sensor)

The ALS feature automatically adjusts the picture contrast based
on the room’s current lighting conditions. For example, when
the room is dark, the ALS will automatically reduce the contrast,
which reduces eye strain. The ALS is activated when the ALS is
set to ON.

Using the flesh tone feature

This feature automatically adjusts the tint to display more
natural flesh tones.

To turn on the flesh tone feature:

1. Press MENU and open the VIDEO menu.
2. Highlight ADVANCED PICTURE SETTINGS and press

ENTER.

3. Press

z to highlight the FLESH TONE field, and then

press

• to select ON.

4. To temporarily save the new settings, highlight DONE and

press ENTER.
To permanently save the new settings, highlight SAVE and
press ENTER.

To turn off the flesh tone feature:

Select OFF in step 3 above.

To activate the ALS:

1. Press MENU and open the VIDEO menu.
2. Highlight ADVANCED PICTURE SETTINGS and press

ENTER.

z to highlight the ALS field, and then press • to

select ON.

4. To temporarily save the new settings, highlight DONE and

press ENTER.

To permanently save the new settings, highlight SAVE and
press ENTER.

Note:

• When the ALS feature is on, the CONTRAST setting

(page 72) changes to AUTO and is not adjustable.

• Do not cover the ALS sensor on the TV front panel or the

ALS will not work properly.

To deactivate the ALS:

Select OFF in step 3 above.
