NETCENTER

USER MANUAL

Create a New Volume
This section is intended only for advanced users who require specific NetCenter settings. If
you are not familiar with this field or are unsure about editing it, cancel the wizard.

Note: A maximum of ten volumes may be created on the NetCenter.

Create a New Volume on the NetCenter

1. Click Create a New Volume.

Note: If the “not enough drive space” message displays, follow the steps under “Resize a
Volume” on page 46.

2. Type in a new volume name in the New Volume Name field. The new volume is

automatically assigned the remaining space on the drive (click Manual Configuration and
move the diamond-shaped slider to the left or type a value to assign only a portion of the
remaining drive space). Click Create Volume.

Auto Configuration automatically spans an attached USB drive and sets it up as contiguous
storage to the NetCenter. To maintain the USB drive a separate volume from the NetCenter,
uncheck Auto Configuration and click Manual.

3. Click OK, then click Continue to Drive Management when complete. The updated

volume status displays.

CAUTION: Do not perform any browser operations or power off the NetCenter during
the volume creation process.
