Waypoint and Database Information

The GPS 155XL uses a Jeppesen NavData® card to provide position and facility

information for thousands of airports, VORs, NDBs and intersections. Each facility in the
database is stored as a waypoint with its own latitude/longitude, identifier (up to five let-
ters and/or numbers), and other pertinent information. Up to 1,000 user waypoints may
also be created and stored in the GPS 155XL’s internal memory.

Waypoint information is available through four primary waypoint pages accessible

from the GPS 155XL’s

W key. The waypoint pages may be scrolled through by pressing

the

W key and rotating the outer knob until the desired page is displayed, or by press-

ing the

W key repeatedly.

Overview

Please note that your GPS 155XL uses ICAO
identifiers for all airports. All U.S. airport identifiers
which contain only letters use the prefix ‘K’. For
example, Los Angeles International is KLAX under
the ICAO standard. Other airports, such as Otten
Memorial (3VS), that contain numbers in the
identifier do not require the ‘K’ prefix. Many foreign
countries use two letter prefixes. For more
information on ICAO identifiers, contact:
