Video Page

The Video Page is available only if you attach an optional NTSC (National

Television System Committee) or PAL (Phase Alternate Line) composite video

source to the GPSMAP 3006C/3010C (see the GPSMAP 3006C/3010C & GPS 17

Installation Instructions for more information). You can input up to two different

video signals to your GPSMAP 3006C/3010C. When attached, you can change or

alternate between video sources, and adjust the aspect, brightness, saturation, and

contrast. You can also adjust which video standard is being input.

Video Page Options

Use the ADJ key and soft keys to access the following options: Source, Aspect,

Brightness, Saturation, Contrast, and Standard.

Source—select input between Video In 1 and Video In 2. Choose

Alternate to switch between sources at 5, 10, and 30 second intervals.

Aspect—select Stretch to stretch the video input to fill the entire frame, or

select Standard to show the normal view of the video input.

Brightness—affects how bright the overall video input appears on the

display (0%–100%).

Saturation—adjusts the intensity of the colors. High saturation produces

bright colors, whereas low saturation produces washed out colors.

Contrast—adjusts the difference between light and dark areas of the video

input. The higher the contrast, the brighter the video appears.

Standard (ADJ key only)—selects the composite video input standard.

Choose Auto to have the unit automatically select the Standard. Choose

NtSC for composite video in NTSC standard or PAl for composite video

input in PAL standard. If set to Auto and Alternate is selected as the

Source, you might notice a switching display as the unit determines the

video input. For best results, set to the specific Standard.
