System Requirements

An IBM-PC or compatible computer with at least one available PCI

A 133 Mhz Pentium processor, or faster.

Version 2.00 or greater PCI BIOS.

Windows 98/95 operating system.

16 megabytes of system RAM (32 recommended in Windows 98).

Other (optional) audio equipment: audio amplifier, mixer, musical
instrument, DAT machine, speakers, etc.

Hardware Installation

To completely install the DMAN 2044, you will first install the DMAN
2044 audio card and its break-out cable into your computer, then attach
external audio devices.

Card Installation

To mechanically install the DMAN 2044 card into your computer, do the
following:
1. Turn off your computer.
2. Remove the computer's cover.
3. Determine the input settings for your DMAN 2044 (see Configuring

DMAN 2044 Input Gain section) and set the jumpers on the DMAN
2044 card accordingly. If in doubt, use the factory settings.

4. Identify a PCI slot for installation of the DMAN 2044 audio card.

There are primarily two types of slots in a PC compatible computer,
ISA and PCI (although as of late 1997 there are some PC computers
that have no ISA slots). The PCI slots are about two-thirds the size of a
16-bit ISA slot and have more gold contacts on them than the ISA slots.

5. Position the computer so that you can easily access the selected PCI

slot.

6. Before removing the DMAN 2044 from its protective anti-static bag,

touch the metal chassis of the computer with your hand in order to
dissipate any static electricity your body may have accumulated.
