1.2 Connecting to a Wireless Access Point

You have two options for connecting to a wireless access point (AP):
• To take advantage of all the extra features and functions available in the

Manhattan configuration utililty (which you just installed with the driver), follow

the steps below in

Section 1.2.1, then skip ahead to the Configuration chapter.

• If you prefer to simply connect to a wireless AP without considering additional

settings, you can proceed to

Section 1.2.2 and use the “WLAN AutoConfig”

function (introduced in XP as “Zero Configuration”) that’s integrated into Windows

operating systems.

1.2.1 Using the Manhattan Utility

click the icon and select “Open configuration utility.”

2. When the Utility screen displays (the General screen should display initially), go

to the “Available Network” tab and double-click on the wireless access point you

want to connect to.
