The MSD Deutsch (Doy-Ch) connector is a waterproof connector that is indexed to prevent damage
or the chance of mismatching connections. These connectors also feature an interlocking tab that
prevents the connector from accidentally being disconnected. When assembling new connectors it
is recommended to have the Pro-Crimp Tool, PN 35051, with the Deutsch crimp dies, PN 3510.
1. Strip about 5/32” of the sleeve off the wire and carefully crimp the terminal to the sleeve (Figure
2). It is recommended to use MSD Pro-Crimp Tool, PN 35051 with PN 3510 crimp dies (supplied
separately).
Note: The male terminals are installed in the female housing and conversely for the female terminals.
2. Insert each connector through the rubber grommet on the back
side of the housing (Figure 3). Note that each terminal slot is
numbered. Push the terminal in until it snaps into the housing and
cannot be pulled out.
3. With all of the terminals in place, install the wedge to lock the
terminals into position (Figure 4). Insert the wedge between the two
rows of pins until it is firmly in place. Do not force the wedge in. If it
does not click in to position, check the location of the terminals.
Note: Before connecting the housings, apply a light coat of lithium grease to the seals.
