4. Operation

Data Hold Mode

The data hold function makes the meter stop updating the display. Press HOLD to hold the reading. appears

on the display. Press again to switch off the function.

Function Selection

Press FUNC. when measuring voltage or current to switch between AC and DC; press the button to select
between resistance, capacitance, diode and continuity measuring.


Manual Ranging and Autoranging Modes

The meter defaults to the autoranging mode in measurement functions that have mode than one range. The

meter displays

when in autoranging mode.

1. Press RANGE to enter the manual ranging mode. Each press on the RANGE key will increase the range.

NOTE: If you manually change the range after entering the data hold mode, the meter will exit this mode.

2. Hold the RANGE key pressed to exit the manual ranging mode and to enter the autoranging mode.


Hz/Duty Selection

Press Hz/DUTY to switch from the frequency to the duty cycle measurement mode and back.

Relative Measurement Mode

The meter will display the relative measurement in all functions except for the frequency measurement.

1. Select a function and touch the test leads to the circuit to be measured.
2. Press REL to store the measured value and activate the relative measurement mode. The difference

between the reference value and the subsequent reading is displayed.

3. Press REL for more than 2 seconds to return the meter to normal operation.


Backlight

Press LIGHT to switch on the backlight. The backlight will automatically fade out after 10 seconds.

Battery Saver

Turn on the meter. The meter turns off automatically after approximately 15 minutes. Rotate the function selector
or press a button to reactivate the meter.


DC Voltage

1. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack and the red test lead to the V jack.
2. Set the rotary selector at the desired V range.

3. Press FUNC. to select the AC range.
4. Connect the test leads with the source or the load under measurement.

5. Read the displayed value.
6. The meter indicates an overrange when OL is displayed. Select a higher range. Select the highest range when

the value to be measured is unknown.

To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, do not apply more 1,000VDC.
