uPDaTiNG Your BaNkS SPeeDBrake
The Banks SpeedBrake is designed
such that new firmware updates
can be easily installed. check the
BanksPower web site at <http://
www.bankspower.com/product>
for the latest version of the Banks
SpeedBrake firmware. Once you
have determined that your Banks
SpeedBrake should be updated,
proceed as follows:
Note: Go to Section 7 and do steps
(a thru c). Once you have downloaded
the SpeedBrake firmware file into the
Banks PowerPDA then proceed.
1.
After the HotSync process is
complete, press the ‘Home’ key
located on the silkscreen portion of
your Banks PowerPDA. This will take
you to the main menu.
2.
Go to your vehicle and turn the
ignition ON.
warNiNG: Do not start the vehicle
when updating the SpeedBrake.
3.
Install the Banks PowerPDA
into the docking station and connect
the power supply.
4.
Press the ‘BanksBrake’ icon.
5.
Go to the system Menu.
6.
Touch the ‘Next>’ button to move
to the System menu 2 of 2 screen.

Touch the ‘update Brake’ button

Touch the ‘Download’ button to
commence the Banks SpeedBrake
firmware update. A bar graph will
appear to indicate the firmware data
completion. Once the ‘Download’ is
complete, press the center button on
the 5-way navigator to return to the
System Monitor screen.
Note: Go to ‘Version & Vehicle Info’ to
verify that that the latest SpeedBrake
firmware was installed correctly.
When updating the Banks SpeedBrake
firmware all settings for the Brake
modes will reset to default settings.
