Introduction

9301 Functional Description

9301 Functional Description

Figure 1-1 shows a functional block diagram of the 9301. The 9301 AES
audio delay provides independent delay settings (from 0.20 msec to 21
seconds) for up to eight AES channel pairs. All received AES signals are
sample rate converted to match a common output timing. The output timing
can be locked to the AES input timing, a black burst or tri-level video
reference signal, or the card’s internal clock.

In addition to the delay function, the 9301 also provides audio routing that
acts as a full audio cross point. Each of the 16 AES output channels can
receive signal from any one of the 16 AES input channels or four internal tone
generators. Unused output channels can be mapped to a “Silence” source.
Each output also provides gain adjustment and selectable polarity inversion.
