Install Stiffy™ Engine Torque Damper chassis mount (has Ingalls logo cut into it) by pushing down on the strut top
and slipping bracket into position over factory strut mount studs. Reinstall factory strut top mount nuts and tighten
to factory torque specifications.
If using aftermarket strut tower bar shorter nuts may be required (not provided). Optional:
Install one layer of Dynamat, or similar product, to the underside of the chassis bracket before installing. (Figure 3 1-3a)

4)

Install Stiffy™ ETD engine mount over the factory engine mount, place supplied (2) small spacers between the
engine mount and bracket. Install supplied (2) short bolts into the engine mount through the bracket and spacers.
Place supplied (1) long spacer between bracket and engine mount attachment to the side of the engine block.
Install supplied (1) long bolt in through bracket, spacer, and mount and torque to factory specifications. Torque
two remaining bolts to factory specifications as well. Reinstall factory rubber vibration isolator. (Figure 1 & 2, 1-3b
& 1b respectively)

5)

Adjust length of the Stiffy™ ETD to match the length between the two mounting points on the engine bracket and
chassis bracket. Install using supplied (2) very short bolts, (2) washers, (2) o-rings, and (2) locknuts. Both sets of
mounting hardware should be oriented as follows:
Bolt>Stiffy™>o-ring>bracket>washer>locknut.

Notes:

Proper use and fitment of the rubber O-ring helps dampen additional road noise or “feel” that can be transferred through the damper
assembly. The O-ring should be used between the Stiffy ™ heim joint and bracket for optimal noise suppression. Dynamat or other
damping materials, as used in aftermarket audio and in-car electronics industries, can also be used to provide further noise and
vibration damping when used between the brackets and the surface they mount on.
DO NOT attempt to adjust Stiffy ™ from its pre-set stiffness without consulting the Ingalls website. Large open-end wrenches are
required to adjust stiffness (27mm). Most standard and mechanics tool kits do not include these types of wrenches.
