DRIVING YOUR VEHICLE
4-40
TRACTION CONTROL
SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
On a slippery road surface, the traction
control system (TCS) prevents the drive
wheels from spinning excessively, thus
helping the car to accelerate. It also
ensures sufficient driving force and
steering performance when the car turns
at accelerated speeds.

CAUTION
When the TCS indicator blinks, the
TCS function function has been
activated due to slippery road con-
ditions or excessive acceleration.
When this happens, release foot
pressure from the accelerator pedal
and maintain a moderate speed.
WARNING
Traction control is a driving aid;
all normal precautions for
driving in inclement weather
and on slippery road surfaces
should be observed.
