Electric Fan Relay & Harness

All electric fans that draw over 8 Amps need a
relay to protect the fan and the vehicle. The
relay acts as a switch between the battery and
fan so high amperage draw fans do not disrupt
the electrical system of the vehicle.
Note: Before starting installation, read
instructions completely and disconnect
battery.

Relay & Harness Mounting
The relay must be mounted in a cool, dry
location, away from hot components. Soldering
wire connections is preferred but good quality
solderless connectors can also be used.

Wiring

Red: Attach to positive (+) side of battery.
Yellow: Attach to fan positive (+) lead.
White: Attach to an ignition switched 12-volt
source. If this wire is hooked up to a constant
source (like the battery) the fan will continue to
run after the vehicle is shut off and could run
down the battery.
Black: Attach to a good chassis ground. Do the
same with the ground lead off the fan motor.
Brown: Disregard this wire, it is not used for
electric fans.

Air Conditioning Override
If you desire to turn on electric fan when the
Air conditioning is on, run a wire from
positive (+) connection on A/C clutch. Splice
other end to White wire on relay harness.
The relay will activate the fan whenever the
A/C is turned on
