Mounting Suggestions
Harley-Davidson® FX/FL Big Twin 1965-1984
Solo Seat
Tools Required:
• Phillips Screwdriver
• SAE Wrenches or Sockets
Hardware:
• Stock Rear Fender Screw
• Two rubber expansion plugs with
threaded inserts and bolts (Included
for Solo Only installation)
Baseplate Features:
The 16 gauge formed steel baseplate is black powder
coated. Rubber bumpers on the solo and carpet on
the rear seat prevent them from touching the frame or
fender.
Stock One-Piece Seat Removal Steps
1. Remove rear fender screw located behind the passenger seat.
2. Slide seat back and up.
Mounting of Mustang Solo Seat
1. Insert threaded rubber expansion plugs into hollow frame
cross tube located halfway between tank and fender. (Fig. I)
2. Slide solo front forks under frame and align side brackets so
they go over rubber expansion plugs.
3. Use supplied bolt and thread through bracket into expansion
plug.
4. Tighten bolts until expansion plugs are snug to complete the
installation process. (Fig. II)
