Virtual Appliance Installation and
Setup
NOTE: Custom icons at this time only work with the Acer Terminal Operating System
(DeTOS) terminals, not Windows-based terminals.
This administration manual outlines how to install, setup, and run Acer
Echo Management Console. Required components include:
1 One or more thin clients
2 Echo enabled thin client
3 System running VMware Server, VMware player, or VMware
vSphere.
4 System running DNS and DHCP servers
Download and Install vSphere, VMware Server,
or Player
Download and install the vSphere Client, VMware Server, or VMware
Player on a dedicated system. If you need assistance installing VMware,
please visit vmware.com.
Download the Echo Software
In order to download the latest Acer Echo Management Console
software to manage your systems, follow these steps:
1. Visit acer global download center or http://www.devonit.com/acer
to get the latest Acer Echo Management Console software.
2. Click on the latest Acer Echo Thin Client Management to
begin downloading.
If you have downloaded the .ova file version, continue on to the Install
Virtual Machine Setup with the vSphere Client section.
