The Test function, selected from the Data Scout Advanced main menu leads to a sub-menu with only one item (figure 3.15).

The Execute Script function is available to users who are familiar with the use of low-level transducer commands and responses. It
allows the user to write their own Scripts (also called Command files) which are simple text files that contain any sequence of
transducer commands and other meta-commands to control the script itself, such as looping, inserting delays and pauses, etc.

For pictorial examples and more information on using the Execute Script function, see Chapter 5.

3.8 THE HELP MENU FUNCTIONS

The Help menu selection on the main menu leads to help information for Data Scout Advanced (figure 3.16).

All Data Scout Advanced windows provide ToolTips as the primary help information for each control, label, and display field. Simply
hover the mouse cursor over each item to see what it is and how it is used. Since menu items have no ToolTips of their own, a special
MenuTips status bar (at the bottom of the window) will provide a similar brief description of each menu item selected. Think of
MenuTips as showing the “history” of the last menu item selected, rather than as a prompt to advise what to do next (as the status bar
at the top of window, and the ToolTips, generally do).
