Either will allow the user to edit the text box directly, after which the user must press <Tab> (or click outside the text box) to make the
change effective.

A non-zero Acquire Period value (in seconds) that is less than the time it takes to actually make a
complete scan of all selected measurements will result in a nearly continuous scan. A small pause
between scans, with the Scan Count box displayed briefly yellow (200 msec), indicates this. Set
Acquire Period to zero for a true continuous scan with no pause.

NOTE:

When Acquire is in progress, for a single scan or scanning continuously, the left-most box (under the Acquire label) changes from
white to bright green, and begins to count scans of all selected measurements (figure 4.7). The integer part counts the number of whole
scans acquired. The fractional part indicates the particular measurement number (1-7) currently being scanned. In the example
below, Acquire is scanning continuously, since the On button is dimmed (can not be selected). Also, it is currently scanning the 1

st

measurement of the 8th overall scan. If scanning stops entirely, the Off button will be dimmed, and the counter box will show its final
achieved scan count on a white background.

Figure 4.7

Select the Scan Counter box to clear its scan counter to zero if Acquire is currently off. This relative
counter has no purpose except as an indicator.

NOTE:

Figure 4.8 below, is an example of a Continuous scan in progress where the Period: text box contains a non-zero Acquire Period value
(60 sec.). That box will become bright yellow if such a period is currently active and counting (or remain light-green if acquisition is
not continuously On). The leftmost Scan Counter box will be bright green during any scanning of all selected measurements but turns
bright yellow during any idle time while Acquire is waiting for the next period (time of a next scan) to begin.

Figure 4.8

Once an Acquire cycle has been started it will be impossible to Exit the Run window, or change any measurements acquired and
displayed, until acquisition is stopped by selecting Off and the scan in progress is finished. The continuous Period box’s value may be
changed any time. However, a <Tab> key (or mouse click outside the box) must be entered before the change is recognized. If an
Acquire cycle is already in progress, it may take another completed cycle before the change takes effect visibly. Clicking the [1] button
or the On button while a single or continuous cycle is already in progress, is ignored. However, clicking the [1] button during the idle
time between periodic scans will cause an immediate single scan and the continuous periodic cycle will end as if Off had been clicked.

The Level Scout allows scanning of their Raw Pressure Volts or Raw Temperature Volts
measurement data ONLY if the transducer is Unlocked. The resulting bad values of “****” are
displayed if their acquisition is attempted while the transducer is Locked. Use Configure | Lock
Access (HiLi Xdcr)
to change this state.
