In figure 4.9, the Run window is shown with only a single measurement (P) selected. Here, the continuous “live” acquisition cycle
(with fastest possible scan period = 0) is shown in progress (i.e., count box = 3.1 and bright green) the count indicates that the 3

scan,

st

(and only) measurement, is in progress. Since there is only one measurement, the fractional part of the scan counter never changes

when the box is green. The message in the status bar (at top) and MenuTip bar (at bottom) changes frequently to also show current
state of scan.

In above example, note that the Configure menu, AutoLog frame of controls, and all measurement selection items in second section of
Acquire menu are disabled while acquisition is running. Thus, the user can change the data content of the acquisition only by stopping
Acquire first. After clicking the Off button, changing measurements is accomplished from the second section of the Acquire menu.
However, if the Record function is also On, the user may leave it on during such a change which allows the recorded data format to
change across the length of the recorded file. Special “unit” header/trailer lines are written to the data file when such format changes
occur. These assist the Playback function in handling the complexity of a file whose data content changes dynamically.

The empty Test#(name) column of the Table data display is reserved for data displayed when a Level Scout transducer has its
“AutoLog” data extracted (described later), and the Table or Both display type is selected.

4.2.3 RUN WINDOW’S DISPLAY MENU AND CONTROLS

The Run window’s Display menu has two sections (figure 4.10). The top section allows one of three display types to be selected. The
currently selected display type is checked. The bottom section contains a single selection labeled Options, which causes an Option
window to open to show the current options available for the currently selected type, and to allow changes to these options.
