The only significant option difference is the addition of a slider control that allows the delay between successive tabular display updates
to be varied. However, this is only useful for displaying AutoLog data (described later). The other Plot options are the same as for the
Plot-Only Trend graph.

The original Table Display type on the Run window can only be resized in the horizontal direction though its various tabular display
columns can be narrowed or widened by dragging their header boundaries. However, when a Plot (or Both) Display type is selected
the Run window may be resized in both horizontal and vertical directions. These changes in size are persistent.

The plotting surface will always resize itself appropriately as the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the Run window are changed
(except when “live” data is being acquired and also displayed on a Trend graph). Really small plotting surfaces are possible, but are not
very practical from a readability standpoint. Thus, it is recommended that the user enlarge the Plot Display to near full-screen size in
order to best view a plot’s labels and annotations. The small annotation text will use a progressively larger font as the window’s width
is increased. The line spacing of annotation text will also increase with window height. A few seconds after the window is resized, any
selected plots will be replotted.

4.2.4 RUN WINDOW’S RECORD MENU AND CONTROLS

The Run window’s Record menu item reveals a submenu in three sections (figure 4.17). The top section turns the function that
records “live” scans to data files, On or Off. The middle section allows the “beginning” name of the next recorded data file created to
be defined and also allows any existing recorded data file to be selected and viewed. This latter function is also duplicated (for
convenience) on the Run window’s File menu. The bottom section sets the format of the next recorded data file created to either a
simple block-per-scan text format (.txt) or to a spreadsheet row per scan format (.csv). Examples of both formats are shown at the end
of this section.

These menu items duplicate functions also available in the Record frame of visual controls located just below the Acquire frame (figure
4.18). Whether using the menu items or the frame of visual push-button, the Run window can record any acquired “live” data scans
for short or extended sessions.

Select the On button (or Record | On menu item) to “create” a new recorded data file. It opens a new file whose name begins with
whatever is currently displayed in the light-green text box labeled Name, and ends with a file extension and internal format specified by
the rightmost list box. Time and date are added to make the file name unique. Using the example above, a file named of
xyz_<date>_<time>.txt would be created in the Dat subfolder of the path where Data Scout Advanced was installed (normally
C:\YSI\DSAdv\). The complete path name of a typical recorded data file would be C:\YSI\DSAdv\Dat\xyz_2006-9-21_13-49-08.txt.

Click the Off button (or Record | Off menu item) to stop recording and close the currently open data file. Any such data file may
contain no acquired data (if Acquire was never turned On while file is open) or it may contain data obtained by one or more Acquire
sessions (i.e., in case Acquire turned On and Off once or several times during the time Record file is open).

Click the Name: text box (or Record | File Name (beginning) Set menu item) to change the “beginning” characters of the name of the
data file that will be created next. After editing the text box, press <Tab> (or click outside the text box) to make the name change
