4.2.5.2 EXTRACTING DATA FROM AUTOLOG TESTS

To Extract AutoLog data from a Level Scout, click (highlight) a particular transducer row on the left-most (Xdcr.) column of the Run
window to choose the subject transducer. Then, click the large Extract Test Data button in the AutoLog frame.

Clicking this button makes the AutoLog window open (figure 4.30). Because the Extract Test Data function was selected, this window
is initially configured with only the controls necessary to permit the user to view or extract data from any or all of the AutoLog tests
(numbered 1 - 16) that are defined inside the selected Level Scout.

On top of the initial AutoLog window, a temporary status window may appear during the process of reading all (up to 16) tests inside
the transducer.

Figure 4.30

Notice the three options in the frame of controls located at the upper left of this window. Although the Extract Test Data function
chosen from the Run window is currently selected, two other configurations (functions) can also be chosen at any time. The first (Edit
Tests) was described in section 4.2.5.1. The Other choice is described below in section 4.2.5.3.

The frame labeled Summary of Existing Tests has the same identical tabbed control as the Edit Tests configuration already described.
This frame also has the same “hidden” controls: double-clicking the display-only white (or pink) display pane updates the current test
or double-clicking the display pane’s outer border updates all the tests. Both functions clear any previous edits (pink fields) for the
affected test(s).

The frame labeled Extract Logged Data for Test “n” (where n is the currently selected test number) has only two tabs (labeled Data
and Units).

The Data tab has two frames. The first frame has a single check-box option that determines whether or not a Comma-Separated-
Variable (.csv) file should also be written in addition to the default AutoLog Test Data (.atd) file for every extracted test. This option
applies to all extracted tests globally (not to each extracted test individually). The second frame of the Data tab has two test boxes
showing the Begin and End scans currently available to extract from the currently selected test. It also requires that the user check a
box in order to request the extraction of that test’s scans. The user can, however, request extraction of more than one test’s data when
the Send button is clicked. The user can also extract other available scans by changing the default Begin and End text boxes.
