Installation and Operation Overview
Follow the steps below to properly install and operate any of the Extron MTP 15HD RS
transmitters and receivers.
CAUTION: Do not connect these devices to a computer data or telecommunications
network.
1. Turn off all MTPs and devices. Make sure that the input sources, the MTP, and
the output sources are all turned off and all power sources and signal cables are
disconnected.
2. If necessary, configure the receiver jumpers (see " Receiver Jumpering " on page 5).
3. If applicable, mount the MTPs (see " Mounting " on page 20).
4. Connect the transmitter inputs (see " Transmitter Rear Panel Features " on page 9).
5. Connect twisted pair (TP) cables between the MTP units (see " Transmitter Rear Panel
Features " on page 9 and " Receiver Rear Panel Features " on page 11).
6. Connect the receiver outputs (see " Receiver Rear Panel Features " on page 11).
7. Configure the receiver DIP switches (see " Receiver Rear Panel Features " on page 11).
8. Connect the power supply and turn on all devices (see " Power Supply Wiring " on
page 13).
9. Adjust the level and peaking (see " Front Panel Features " on page 7).
10. Adjust the skew delay control (see " Front Panel Features " on page 7).
