away respectively. Gently twist on the connector end of the included external antenna cable and
then position the antenna up to 13´ away from Room Alert 32W monitor. Attempt to position the
antenna where it will have the most unobstructed signal access to the WiSH/WiSPR sensors
located elsewhere at your facility.
Room Entry Sensor — Connect the AVTECH Room Entry Sensor to one of the
Switch Sensor Contact Sets 1-16 (C). Position the sensor in the desired location,
typically the frame of a door or window
.
Step 5: Check Room Alert 32W Firmware Version
Browse to the ‘Device Status’ section on the left side of the web interface for Device ManageR and
locate your Room Alert 32W monitor. Select it and click the ‘open web’ link button. If your Room
Alert 32W is not discovered due to blocked UDP broadcasts on your network, you can manually add
the Room Alert 32W to the ‘Device Status’ section by its IP address using the ‘Advanced Discovery...’
button or simply type the IP address of the Room Alert 32W unit in the address bar of a web browser.
NOTE: If the ‘Status’ screen does not load sensor data, be sure that a proxy or Microsoft ISA (Internet Security and Acceleration)
server is not blocking traffic to or from the Room Alert 32W monitor.
After the ‘Status’ screen has loaded and is fully displayed, click the ‘Room Alert 32W vX.X.X’ link in
the top right hand corner. If the pop-up that loads says a more current version is available, then follow
the instructions in the ‘Upgrading Firmware’ section of the ‘Advanced Topics’ chapter of this manual
to properly download and install the latest version of the Room Alert 32W firmware. This is important
because network security and performance requirements, as well as operating systems, change over time
and make it necessary to periodically adjust firmware for access, performance and security.
