Step 6
switch all nodes in the network to the operaTional state.
On entering the OPERATIONAL state, the status of the inputs is transmitted once.
In OPERATIONAL state, the BUS LED lights up steady green.
MASTER

Example:

Identifier = 0
Length = 2
Data = 01 00 xx xx xx xx xx xx hex

(xx: don’t care)

Identifier = 0
Length = 2
Data = 01 00 hex

SLAVE (only PDO1 shown!)

Example:

Identifier = 180 hex + set address (e. g.: 181hex at Adr. 1)
Length = 8
Data = yy yy yy yy yy yy yy yy hex

(yy: status of the inputs )

Identifier = 181
Length = 4
Data =
00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 hex,
when input 9 is set

Step 7
set outputs
MASTER (only PDO1 shown!)

Example:

Identifier = 200 hex + set address (e. g.: 201 hex at Adr. 1)
Length = 8
Data = yy yy yy yy yy yy yy yy hex

(yy:output value)

Identifier = 201
Length = 8
Data =
55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 hex,
for every 2. output

Step 8
read in inputs
Transmission of the input status is event controlled (depending on the configuration; cf. object 1800 hex).
A message is transmitted at every change in the output state.
SLAVE (only PDO1 shown!)

Example:

Identifier = 180 hex + set address (e. g.: 181hex at Adr. 1)
Length = 8
Data = yy yy yy yy yy yy yy yy hex

(yy: status of the inputs )

Identifier = 181
Length = 4
Data =
00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 hex,
when input 9 is set

Step 9
reset node to pre-operaTional state
This command sets the node back to the PRE-OPERATIONAL state. The boot up message is no longer
sent in this case (see step 5).
MASTER

Example:

Identifier = 0
Length = 2
Data = 80 00 xx xx xx xx xx xx hex

(xx: don’t care)

Identifier = 0
Length = 2
Data = 80 00 hex
