Output and Ratio Check Adjustments - continued
5. Open valve on block and allow material to flow for at least 10 seconds (see fig. 41)
6. Close dispensing block and weigh cups (see figures 42 & 43)
fig. 42
fig. 43
7. There will always be small discrepancies in weight due to flow and density
8. If weights are off by more than 10%, the feed pumps may need adjusting
9. Two methods can be used to compensate for ratios (be sure the Main Activator Pump is functioning
properly).
i. Increase or Decrease the Activator Ram Feed pump pressure to adjust the activator weight
material by 5 psi (0.5 bar) and recheck. It is best to start at a low pressure and use only
enough pressure as necessary.
Or
ii. Move the Main Activator Pump to a higher percentage on the slave arms.
10. Repeat steps until accurate ratios are achieved
11. The output of the material is achieved by increasing the Adhesive Ram Pump unit pressure.
12. The output checks should be done with the mixer attached to the dispense head / gun.
13. The pressure can be increased in 5 psi (0.5 bar) increments until the desired output is achieved.
14. If the Adhesive Ram Pump pressure is increased, it may be necessary to adjust the Activator Ram
feed pump as well and check for ratio accuracy
15. Once a desired output is reached, it is best to operate in this range and avoid continued adjustments
NOTE: For best results perform a ratio check at the dispensing head. The pump
pressure on the ram activator unit should be kept as low as possible to prevent over
riding the inlet balls in the main activator pump. The activator feed pump pressure may
need to be adjusted if the adhesive pump pressure is change
NOTE: See Pour Testing section below for proper trouble shooting and metering issues.
