6.2.a Settings of internal VOX

If you use the device on its own, you can enable the internal VOX and

optimise its functioning by registering its sensitivity according to the

following instructions

1) Press the

MENU button three times. The display shows the

icon followed by I (internal VOX). On the left the current VOX

setting flashes (E.g. 0).

2) Press the button

+ or to select the number corresponding to the

desired setting according to the following table:

Minimal You will need to speak up and talk near the

radio, however you will be able to operate even

in noisy environment

Medium Medium setting

Maximum You will be able to speak normally without

raising the volume of your voice and at a

greater distance from the radio. However, if the

environment is not sufficiently quiet, a noise

could accidentally initiate transmission

3) Press the

PTT button to exit or wait for a few seconds. The device

will go back to standby mode storing the new setting. If you keep

the device nearby (e.g. on your desk) you can now talk hands

free

6.2.b Settings of external VOX

If you are using external microphone + headphones, you can enable

external VOX. To optimize settings do the following:

1) Turn off the radio.

2) Remove the rubber cover which protects

SPK and MIC/CHG

connectors.

3) Insert headphones and microphone jacks into sockets

SPK e

MIC/CHG and wear your microphone as close as possible to the

side of your mouth.

4) Switch on the radio. Before installing the accessory bring the

deviating switch on VOX.

5) Press the

MENU button four times. The display shows the icon

followed by

E (external VOX). On the left the current VOX setting

flashes ( E.g. 0):

6) Follow steps 2 and 3 described in par. 6.2.a. At this point you can

operate hands free in complete freedom of movement.

! When you have finished using external audio accessories do

not forget to replace the rubber cover protection onto the

sockets.

! Connection or disconnection of audio accessories must

always be carried out with the radio turned off.
