10 Repairs and Maintenance

Repairs are subject to inspection and must be carried out at. In case of defect or malfunction, please
contact your local dealer or service center for repair. When returning the instrument for repair,
please include a precise and complete description of the problem. Maintenance work may be carried
out only by a trained technician with expert knowledge of the hazards involved and the required
precautions.

The lithium battery for back-up of the
calendar/time chip is located below the cover for
the power supply on the main board.
The battery is activated before the instrument
leaves the factory.

After initial start-up, the clock must be set (date and time).

10.1.1 Battery Replacement


The instrument is equipped with a lithium battery for back-up of the time/calendar chip. If the voltage
drops below the specified minimum, or in case of defect, the battery must be replaced by the
customer service or by an equivalent trained technician. For details on disposal, see Chapter 11.
The battery voltage is monitored; see Chapter 4.4.3.
For details on battery lifetime, see Chapter 12.2.1.

10.1.2 Solder Work


Soldering work on the instrument is neither required nor permitted.

10.1.3 Cleaning

Disconnect the instrument from the supply voltage and remove connected data cables.

Prevent moisture from penetrating the instrument.

Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.

Clean the indicator using a piece of cloth which has been wet with a mild detergent or soap.

If the instrument is used in the food industry, make sure permissible cleaning agents are used.

Dry the instrument using a soft cloth.

Do not wash down the equipment with water or dry it with compressed air; this is not permitted.
