5. Check the tractor over to make sure it is in good work-
ing condition. Check all bolts and make sure they are
tight.

Check hydraulic system for operation and oil level.

Be sure tires and rims are in good condition. Inflate tires

to the proper recommended air pressure.

Check the shield over the PTO stub shaft. Make sure it

is in good condition and bolted securely to the tractor.
Purchase a new shield if old shield is damaged or
missing. (You may have to use a tractor salvage yard for
replacement parts on older tractors.)

It is recommended that a ROPS (Roll-Over Protection

Structure) be installed on all tractors. Contact your local
dealer for ROPS for your tractor.

9. Stabilizer Arm – To limit side movement of the imple-
ment, install the stabilizer bar included in the kit. Loosen
the two

” carriage bolts and place one end of the bar

over the left hand

” pull pin on the main frame. (Same

pin that the left hand lift arm is on.) Place the other end
over the right hand pull pin of the implement and then
place the right hand lift arm on and secure with

” linch

pin.

After connecting the left lift arm and the toplink, raise the

implement just off the ground and center the implement
in relation to the tractor. Lower the implement back on
the ground and tighten the two

The 3 pt. hitch adapter kit is shipped as 1 carton and 1

bundle:

1. The carton contains all hardware, hydraulic cylinder,

and the small parts.

2. The bundle is the main frame assembly.

A S S E M B LY

1. Refer to the parts illustration in this manual and iden-
tify the parts and hardware used in the kit.

2. Place the right and left hand rocker shaft mounting
brackets on the rocker shaft assembly as shown in the
illustration. Then slide this entire three piece assembly
on the angle frame members of the tractor. Use a
tapered aligning punch to line up the holes in the right
and left hand rocker shaft mounting brackets and the
holes in the bottom leg of the angle frame members.

3. Place the hitch kit main frame into position between
the drawbar and the angle frame members. Use the
tapered aligning punch again to align the holes.

Install the

1

/

2

” x 2” hex head bolts in the forward holes of

the right and left hand rocker shaft mounting brackets.
(Bolts go through the brackets, the angle frame mem-
bers, and the front holes of the hitch main frame.)

Install the

1

/

2

” x 2

1

/

2

” carriage bolts into the rear holes of

these same pieces.

Leave these bolts just finger tight. Insert two of the

5

/

8

x 2

1

/

2

” hex head bolts into the hitch main frame and the

drawbar. Use a

5

/

8

” flat washer next to the tractor

drawbar.

After all six of these bolts are in place, go back and

tighten all of these bolts.

4. Place the two lift arms into position. Slide the forward
ball over the

7

/

8

” pin on the hitch main frame and secure

with a

7

/

16

” linch pin.

NOTE: The drilled hole offset in the middle part of the lift
arm goes to the rear.

5. Connect the hydraulic hose to the port of the hydraulic
cylinder. Use a good thread sealant to prevent leaks. The
use of teflon tape is NOT recommended. Connect the
other end of the hose to the hydraulic selector valve port.

6. Place the lower end of the hydraulic cylinder in
between the mounting tabs of the hitch main frame and
insert the

3

/

4

” x 4” bolt. Use the

3

/

4

” nylock nut on this bolt

and snug tighten against the tabs. NOTE: DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN – The lower end of the cylinder needs to
pivot about this bolt.

Insert the

1

/

2

” x 2

1

/

4

” hex bolt through the upper cylinder

clevis and the cylinder arm on the rocker shaft. Use the

1

/

2

” nylock nut on this bolt and tighten enough to snug bolt

against the cylinder clevis.

7. Drive the handles through the center hole in the bar-
rel of the two leveling assemblies. (Use a hammer and
drive one end of the handle through both holes.)

Install the two leveling assemblies between the upper

rocker shaft lift arms and the lower lift arms. Use the

5

/

8

x 2

1

/

2

” hex head bolts in all four locations.

NOTE: The upper end of the leveling assemblies go to
the outside of the rocker shaft lift arms and to the inside
of the lower lift arms. Position the leveling assemblies
with the lock tabs up.

8. Place one end of the toplink between the toplink ears
(center of the rocker shaft) and insert the forged pin and
secure with a

7

/

16

” linch pin.

Read manual before operating.

C A U T I O N !

S A F E T Y T R A I N I N G

• Know your controls and how to stop tractor, engine,

and PTO quickly in an emergency. READ THIS
MANUAL AND THE ONE PROVIDED WITH YOUR
TRACTOR.

• To avoid accident or injury, do not allow anyone to

operate this equipment without proper instructions.
Any person who operates this equipment must be
instructed in and be capable of the safe operation of
the tractor, implement and all controls.

• Do not allow children to operate this machine.

O P E R AT I O N

Position the implement behind the tractor, slide the lift

arm ball ends on the implement pull pins and lock in
place with

7

/

16

” linch pins.

Attach the toplink to the implement toplink bracket using

a

3

/

4

” toplink pin and linch pin (not provided).

Use the screw adjustment to level the R.H. lift arm with

L.H. arm or to provide the proper “pitch” for mounted
plows. Adjust the top link assembly to level the imple-
ment fore and aft.

The adjustable screw type top link can also be short-

ened or lengthened to adapt different implements and
can be used to obtain various degrees of pitch on the
implements you are using.

NOTE: The upper arms on the rockshaft assembly will
come close to the bottom seat support on the tractor in
the fully raised position. NEVER place hands in this area
while raising the hitch! Only a qualified operator should
be permitted on the tractor when in operation: NO
RIDERS ALLOWED!

W A R N I N G !

MAKE SURE THAT ALL OPERATING AND SERVICE

PERSONNEL

KNOW THAT IN THE EVENT

HYDRAULIC FLUID PENETRATES THE SKIN, IT
MUST BE SURGICALLY REMOVED WITHIN A FEW
HOURS BY A DOCTOR FAMILIAR WITH THIS FORM
OF INJURY, OR GANGRENE MAY RESULT.

Be sure your tractor is in good condition and

properly equipped with counterweights. Read all the
safety precautions and make sure all tractor
operators are familiar with the safety rules of tractor
operation.

C A U T I O N !

Before installing the adapter kit on the tractor,

locate the tractor on a level surface, engage the park-
ing brake, shut off the tractor and remove the key.

W A R N I N G !

P R E PA R AT I O N

• Always wear relatively tight and belted clothing to

avoid entanglement in moving parts. Wear sturdy,
rough-soled work shoes and protective equipment for
eyes, hands, and hearing. Never operate tractor in
bare feet, sandals, or sneakers.

• Operate only in daylight or good artificial light.

• Ensure implement is properly mounted, adjusted and

in good operating condition.

• Ensure that all safety shielding and safety signs are

properly installed and in good condition.

NOTE: Use of Stabilizer Bars

Some implements such as post hole diggers, rear

blades, landscape rakes, and rear 3 pt. scoops, you will
need to install the stabilizer bars to eliminate side
movement of the hitch to control the implement.

With other implements, such as 3 pt. plows, disc

harrows, field cultivators, and harrows, it is best to
remove the stabilizer bars and allow the hitch side
movement. This makes it easier to steer the tractor and
minimize side pressure on the hitch and the implement
when turning.

This kit is designed to lift up to 400 lbs., but, of course,

lifting capacity is dependent on the pressure and condi-
tion of the tractor’s hydraulic system. You will also find
that the closer the load is kept to the tractor, the more
you will be able to lift.

ALWAYS OBEY ALL SAFETY RULES!

ALWAYS BE CAREFUL!
