11. Install extended cab braces (EX version only)
This step is for the EX version, if your rack is not an EX version, please disregard this step. (These
braces may be purchased separately if your rack is not an EX version.)
With a pencil, mark a reference line 1” from the edge of the leg as shown below. This will center the
mounting hardware in ribbed portion of the leg.
Position the brace by placing the top of the brace tight against the lower rail and aligning and centering
the brace lower mounting holes along the reference line as shown.
Mark the center of the two lower mounting holes of the brace onto the leg. The marked holes should be
on the reference line marked above, adjust marks as needed so they are on the reference line.
Recheck the positioning of the brace to verify the top of the brace is tight against the lower rail when the
lower mounting holes are centered on the marks.
For best results, use a center punch before drilling. Drill (2) 3/8” diameter holes through the marks on
the leg. Erase the reference line.
