5.6 SYSTEM SHUTDOWN
This menu is available to Administrators only.
Always properly shutdown the DVR before moving it. The hard drive can be damaged if the DVR is moved be-
fore shutdown. Whatever state the DVR was in when it was properly shutdown, the DVR will reboot to this state
(ex: split window display, etc).
WARNING – When powering off the DVR, use the following proper shutdown procedure
to avoid damaging the unit: Select Shutdown from the Main Menu. The onscreen
display will display a scrolling message in the Status Bar when it is safe to turn off the
power switch on the rear of the DVR.
In the Menu display, use the buttons on the front panel of the DVR or remote control, and press ▲▼◄► to
select Shutdown, and then press ENTER. Alternatively use the mouse to select this icon from the main Menu.
A confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen. Press ENTER to confirm the shutdown. The system will
save all the files and all the states, and then display a power-off message in the rolling screen message area.
At this point, the user may safely power off the system with the power button found on the rear of the DVR.
