Unit Location
Locate the unit in an area that allows for easy removal
of the filter and access panels. The diagrams to the
right show minimum suggested clearances. Any addi-
tional clearances would be beneficial, but not always
necessary. Units need to be accessed from three
sides: two panels for the two panels for the blower, two
electrical access doors and one for the compressor
compartment. The requirements on any specific unit may increase or
be reduced depending on several factors such as
maintenance requirements and mechanical or electrical
installation codes. Horizontal unit filters are removed
from the bottom with an option for side removal. Verti-
cal unit filters slide out of the left or right side (quad-
circuit units must be removed from each side). If return
air is not ducted, enough clearance will required to pro-
vide for adequate airflow.
