You can configure D_Ports in static-static modes between switches (ISLs), chassis (ICLs), Access
Gateways, and switch-Access Gateway links.

The following examples use the command-line interface. Refer also to the latest Brocade Host
Connectivity Manager (HCM) information in the Brocade Network Advisor documentation to use the
graphical user interface (GUI) applications to configure D_Port.
Enabling D_Port in static mode
Use this procedure to configure a basic D_Port diagnostics session between two switches, as shown
in
on page 423.
NOTE
The automatic test might fail if you do not follow the sequence of steps exactly.
1. Disable Port 1 on Switch A by using the portDisable command.
switchA:admin> portdisable 1
2. Configure Port 1 on Switch A as a D_Port by using portCfgDport --enable .
switchA:admin> portcfgdport --enable 1
