C. PREPARE THE FLOW CELL

1. Select the NPT barbed fitting for the size tubing to be used

(

” or ½”). Tape the NPT threads. Screw into threaded

holes on base (inflow) and top (outflow) of flow cell.
Tighten by hand or with a wrench. Do not overtighten.

2. If using the 3-way valve, attach it to the intake fitting

(bottom) with a short length of tubing. Run another length
of tubing from the valve to the well.

3. If using the anti-siphon check valve, attach it to the outlet

fitting (top) with a short length of tubing. Arrow on valve
indicates flow direction. Use additional tubing if needed to
direct outflow as required.

4. Attach hoses to valves and secure with clamps (may not be

needed with very low flow rates).

5. To provide stability, attach spike to base of flow cell and

press into the ground. Can be secured at a small angle
from vertical (< 30°) to allow bubbles to self-purge from
the cell.

6. Insert the MP TROLL / RDO sensor assembly into the top of

the flow cell and screw on hand-tight.

The RDO Low-Flow Flowcell is designed
for use with the MP TROLL 9500. Do not
use with the TROLL 9000.

GUIDELINES AND PRECAUTIONS

Flow is controlled by the pump, not the 3-way ball valve.
The valve may be used to divert flow for sample collection

To decrease air bubbles in the system, be sure to tape the
adapter fittings before installation

In-Situ's Flow-Sense low-flow software calculates volume
automatically

Air bubbles are unavoidable in low-flow sampling. Expect
a somewhat longer stabilization time for RDO than for
other sensors
