The Pressure Suppression function eliminates the effect of this over-shoot by increasing the “Low flow
Threshold” for a short period of time. The pressure suppression function will be triggered when the flow
rate first falls below the low flow threshold. For a set period of time, defined in Holding Register No 3101,
the Pressure suppression threshold, defined in Holding Register No. 3103, will be added to the level of the
Low flow threshold, as defined in Holding Register No. 3047. See figure below.
The amplitude, frequency and dec ay rate of the ringing effect will depend upon t he flow rate prior to the
Flow “Switch Off”, the rate at which the “Switch Off” occurs and the damping characteristics of the pipe
work i nstallation. F or t his r eason, s etting t he par ameters of the Pressure Suppression function is an
empirical process that the installer must go through to optimise the operation to the target installation.
