perform a normal Build/Apply of an RVU, SPR, or other software on any host or
target system on which DSM/SCM has been newly configured.
19. From the Build/Apply Request window:
a. Select a build request or build, apply, and snapshot request. See Task 2:
Indicate a Build/Apply or Build Request on page 9-10.
b. Specify a different SYSnn. subvolume. See Task 3: Specify the SYSnn
Subvolume on page 9-11.
c. To use the default output or system generation options, you can skip this task.
To change the values for these options, see
Task 4: Set the Options for the
Build and Apply Request on page 9-12.
d. To run this task immediately, you can skip this task. To schedule the task for
another time, see Task 5: Schedule the Request on page 9-22.
e. Click Edit Instructions and enter necessary information for planner. Task 6:
Edit the Instructions on page 9-23
In item 4, replace nn with the SYSnn you specified.
f. From the Planner Instruction window, click OK.
g. Click TSV Location....
Verify volumes. Move the ZDSMSCM subvolume to the $DSMSCM volume so
that the database is always accessible no matter which alternate system disk
you perform a system load from.
20. Submit the Build request. See Task 7: Submit the Request on page 9-24.
21. Click OK to verify OSS file management (if Manage OSS Files is checked).
22. If DSM/SCM is configured to send a snapshot to the host system automatically,
proceed to Task 8: Accepting Discrepancies on page 5-37. If the snapshot is not
sent automatically:
a. Select Maintain>Target maintenance>Initialize target system.
b. From the Initialize Target System dialog box, click Snapshot.
23. Click Yes to mark the system as initialized. DSM/SCM displays the Initialized
Target dialog box.
24. Click OK. Initialization is complete.
25. Select File>Exit to exit the Planner Interface. Configuration of the system and its
logical target is complete.
