Specifying Product Dependencies

Specifying Product Dependencies

A product’s A0CINFO file optionally contains two dependency lists:

The Requires list contains the product number, version ID, and SPR code of other
product SPRs that must accompany the current product in the new software
revision.

The Replaces list contains the product number, version ID, and SPR code of
earlier versions of the product that are superseded by this version. For example,
this list is used when an SPR for a product contains fixes from a previous SPR and
therefore supersedes the previous SPR.

DSM/SCM uses these lists to produce the Required IPMs and Replaced IPMs reports.
(See

Section 18, Generating DSM/SCM Reports

.) Although DSM/SCM does not

perform dependency checking, the planner can use these reports to help determine
product dependencies when planning new software revisions.

To specify product dependency information, add or remove products in the Requires
and Replaces lists.

1. In the DSV Information dialog box, click the IPM update button and enter the SPR

code.

2. Click View/modify Requires/Replaces info....

CNFGINFO displays the DSV Requires/Replaces Information dialog box.

3. Click OK.

CNFGINFO returns to the DSV Information dialog box.
