What's New in This Guide

This version of the OSM Service Connection (T0682 H02 ADH), released in conjunction with the
H06.28/J06.17 RVUs, adds:

Support for HP Integrity NonStop NS2300 servers and NS2400 series servers, including new

Processor Type

values of NSE-AG for NS2300 and NSE-AH for NS2400 series.

Removed all occurrences of the Enable Memory Snapshot action, as it is not valid for H- and
J-series systems.

Recent OSM History

At H06.27/J06.16, OSM Service Connection (T0682 H02 ADF) added:

Support for HP Integrity NonStop BladeSystem NB56000c and NonStop BladeSystem
NB56000c-cg (Carrier Grade), including a

Processor Type

value of NSE-AF.

Get SMARTSSD Wear Status Summary

guided procedure on the system object.

Support for

16-port Ethernet controllers (G16SE)

on all AC-powered NonStop BladeSystems

except for NonStop BladeSystem NB50000c.

OSMCONF flag options that allow you to disable all dial-outs and also the ability to specify
alarms that should not be disabled from dialing out. For more information, see the OSM
Configuration Guide
.

New alarm for hung Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) and iLO on processor blades
in Integrity NonStop BladeSystems and blade elements in Integrity NonStop NS-Series servers.

Ability to disable bouncing ServerNet links and create an alarm for them.

OSM certificates now use SHA1 instead of MD5 (for more information, see the OSM
Configuration Guide
).

Also new for H06.27/J06.16, OSM Low-Level Link (T0633 G07 ABS) adds a “Select to change
iLO Admin user's password” option in the Configure CLIM dialog box. This allows you to change
this password without logging on to the iLO interface. If there is no Admin user ID yet – as may
be the case with replacement CLIMs – this Low-Level Link action creates that Admin user ID and
allows you to establish a password for it.

At H06.26/J06.15, OSM Service Connection (T0682 H02 ADD) added:

Support for Gen8 CLIMs, including new attributes and/or attribute values on these CLIM
subcomponent objects:

Hard Disk

,

DIMM

,

NIC

, and

Smart Array Controller

.

Display of the Firmware Version attribute on the CLIM

Hard Disk

object for all CLIM types.

Support for double chip sparing. For NonStop NB54000c, NS2200, and NS2100 servers,
which have 4-bit wide DRAM devices, an alarm calling for DIMM replacement is not generated
until two DRAM devices within the same rank fail, saving unnecessary service.

Support for specifying a user other than the default NSC users (the Administrator,
NSC_Administrator, and GCSC user accounts) when performing the

Prepare for Down System

CLIM Firmware Update

action on the CLIMs object.

For T0682 H02 ADD (and later), SSL is enabled for OSM by default for all H-series systems.
Previously, this was the default for J-series systems only; for H-series systems, you had to enable
SSL through an OSMCONF setting.

NOTE:

The SSL support built into OSM relies on a “shared” SSL certificate. For maximum

security, HP recommends that you generate a private SSL certificate, as described in the OSM
Configuration Guide
.

Creation of a major alarm if a DP2 process for a disk volume enters a softdown state and the
other processor is down and/or the other DP2 process is already softdown
