To update firmware on CLIM components, you can use the actions located on the individual
component objects within the OSM Service Connection or the Down System CLIM Firmware Update
Tool.

The Down System CLIM Firmware Update Tool is installed on NonStop system consoles as part of
the OSM Console Tools product T0634 G06 ABB and later. It is launched from the Windows Start
menu by selecting All Programs > HP OSM > Down System CLIM Firmware Update Tool. In order
to perform firmware updates through the Down System CLIM Firmware Update Tool, you must first
perform the Prepare for Down System CLIM Firmware Update action, located under the

CLIMs

object, then bring the system down.

CLIM

Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if the value is
something other than OK.

Service State

Logical

The version of the CIP software running on the CLIM.

CIP Software Version

Displays a value of 1 or 2, as specified in the

Configure CLIM

action,

depending on whether there are one or two physical connections between
a CLIM and a P-switch (NS-series) or ServerNet switch (Integrity NonStop
BladeSystem).

Fabric

Displays whether the CLIM will be used for IP, Storage, or Open (Telco), as
specified in the

Configure CLIM

action.

Configured Operation Mode

Displays the status of the connection.

Connection Status

The state of the CLIM as a result of the operator command issued via OSM
or SCF. Possible values include Stopped, Starting, and Started.

Device State

List of physical Ethernet interfaces on the CLIM that are down.

Down Physical Network Interfaces

The version of the IP software running on the CLIM.

IP Software Version

The version of the Linux software running on the CLIM.

Linux Version

The IPv4 address used to connect directly to the CLIM.

Maintenance Interface IPv4 Address

This attribute applies only to supported storage CLIMs (G5 and later), and
indicates whether or not – at the time of discovery – the CLIM had been
successfully registered to the Key Manager or Key Manager Cluster using
the

guided procedure.
