Direct Backup Engine operations involve the following components:

Open-system host server

HP Surestore Disk Array XP and volumes (LUs)

Backup devices (tape devices and/or Disks)
•
Port groups (target ports and initiator ports)

Fibre-channel cable connections
•
XP Remote Console PC
•
LUN Manager remote console software
•
Direct Backup Engine remote console option (license key)
•
Fibre-channel package for initiator ports
