Replacing a Battery
If your HP NetServer repeatedly loses its configuration or the processor clock
stops, you should replace the battery.
WARNING
There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly
installed. For your safety, never attempt to recharge,
disassemble, or burn the old battery. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
1.
Power down the HP NetServer and unplug power cord.
2.
Remove the NetServer cover and the cooling duct/cover.
3.
Lay the chassis on its side with the system board components facing up.
4.
If necessary, remove the accessory board, which prevents access to the
battery.
5.
Insert a small flatblade screwdriver or similar tool between battery and
spring latch. See Figure 10-2.
6.
Push the spring latch away from battery to release the battery.
The spring contacts beneath the battery cause it to pop up allowing you to
grasp the battery.
7. Remove the existing battery.
