For a new backup, enter the backup name in the “Name backup” box. Make sure the
name is unique. The backup names are limited to 8 characters.

Select the volumes to be backed up by going to the “tree control” on the right side of
the property sheet. To select the volumes to backup, click on the box outside the
volume, or open up the tree and click on the boxes outside the subvolumes that are
wanted to be backed up. Once a box has been clicked, a check mark will appear
indicating that volume or subvolume has been selected. For a full backup, click on all
the boxes next to the volumes.

Existing scheduled backups may be used also by pulling down the drop down box and
selecting the existing name (see Figure 3-19). To delete an existing scheduled
backup, select the backup and then click on the “Delete Backup” button.

Once a new backup or an existing scheduled backup has been selected, select
“Immediate” or “Scheduled” to schedule the backup. Selecting “Immediate” will
start the backup as soon as it is received and will not schedule it for future use.
Selecting “Scheduled” will schedule your backup. To start the scheduled backup
instantly, select the current date and time. Messages received from the Tandem
System will be received in the box below the Cycle, Hour, and Start Date.

Once the name of the backup has been entered, the volumes to backup have been
selected, and the schedule cycle has been chosen, click on the “Set Defines” button to
send the schedule to the Tandem.
