* Type refers to the size, device emulation, sharing conditions, etc. If the LUN Expansion (LUSE) and
Virtual LVI/LUN features are installed, you can define any size of volume appropriate for your
environment.

** Device names recognized on the host are determined by the settings of path definition of storage
system, OS internal rule, and the HBA device driver.

XP RAID Manager Setup

Figure 6

shows the horcm.conf file used for the sample configuration shown in

Figure 5

All XP RAID

Manager operations in the following sections use this horcm.conf file:

HORCM_MON and HORCM_INST are parameters used by XP RAID Manager to monitor XP
Continuous Access and XP Business Copy pair status. If you do not plan to use these functions,
set localhost and default parameters.

HORCM_CMD describes the special file names of command device(s). XP RAID Manager finds
the command device(s) by referring to HORCM_CMD.

HORCM_DEV defines group names and device names to physical volumes in the storage system
and uses them in succeeding operations. In the above example, oralog and log1-1 are defined
as the group name and the device name, referring to the device file /dev/dsk/c4t0d0 connecting
to port CL1-E on the storage system.
