Locating and interpreting error codes and logs using the RAID Manager
You can troubleshoot the tasks that you have performed using RAID Manager. The following task
describes RAID Manager error codes and how to locate and interpret them.
You can use the SSB1/SSB2 error code combination to determine the cause of the error. The error
codes are shown to the right of the equal symbol (=) in the log. The SSB1 code is the last four
alphanumeric characters to the left of the comma (,). The SSB2 code is the last four alphanumeric
characters to the right of the comma (,).

Open one of the following:
•
RAID Manager window.
•
RAID Manager operation log file.
Default location:
/HORCM/log*/curlog/horcmlog_HOST/horcm.log
where * is the instance number, and HOST is the host name
2. In the log that is displayed, locate the log or error code you are investigating and the SSB1
and SSB2 codes:

(If you are using RAID Manager window)
Example log:
It was rejected due to SKEY=0x05, ASC=0x20,SSB=0xB9E1,0xB901 on
Serial#(64015)
SSB1 code: B9E1
SSB2 code: B901

(If you are using RAID Manager operation log file)
Example error code:

SSB2 code: 2089
3. Locate the description of the SSB1/SSB2 error code combination in the following RAID Manager
error code table.

Description SSB2 code
An error occurred during a BC pair task. -
The pair task was rejected because the specified THP or Smart V-VOL is not associated with a pool. 200D
The CG pair-split was rejected because the Cnt Ac-J pair is suspended (“PSUE” status), unpaired, or
is not split (“PSUS” status). The Cnt Ac-J S-VOL was the BC P-VOL included in the CG on which the
pair-split is being performed. 201B
The Quick Restore was rejected because the cache mode of the specified P-VOL is different from the
cache mode of the external S-VOL. 2026
The volume you specified as a P-VOL was a volume using two mirrors included in a 3-Cnt Ac-J DC
multi-target or cascade configuration. The operation was rejected because the volume was used as
a Cnt Ac-J pair volume. 2043
The volume you specified as an S-VOL was a volume using two mirrors included in a 3-Cnt Ac-J DC
multi-target or cascade configuration. The operation was rejected because the volume was used as
a Cnt Ac-J pair volume. 2044
